Use the Content Toolkit

📌 Requirements: Enterprise Network with the Content Toolkit enabled.

The Pressbooks Content Toolkit is a suite of publishing tools that help authors and publishers save time by ensuring that content published with Pressbooks is accessible, free of broken links, and ready for distribution. It consists of Accessibility Assist (powered by Editoria11y), the Link Checker, and for Pressbooks network managers or institutional managers, the Network Book Scanner.

The Content Toolkit is available to Enterprise networks as an optional add-on. It will also be available from February 10th through March 8th, 2026 for a limited free trial. If your network has the Content Toolkit enabled, and you have the user role of Administrator or Editor in a book, you’ll find the Content Toolkit in the left sidebar menu of the book dashboard.

In the following chapters, we’ll discuss how to use the Content Toolkit to identify, understand, and address accessibility issues and broken links within your books.
